Our goal is simple: We are seeking to connect teachers interested in leading the future of education. Teachers will navigate artificial intelligence and other technologies as they prepare students for a society where agility, adaptability, and complex thinking are driving forces. The impact of educational technologies in classrooms cannot be understated. The days of desks in rows and teachers guiding from the front are gone. We want teachers to know they are not alone. We can do this. Together.
For the 2023-2024 school year, we are looking to support a minimum of 15-25 teachers for a series of virtual sessions on emerging educational technologies with a focus on artificial intelligence. Our next session is Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. CT.
Teachers in the Loop is partnering with HAKing Innovation, a non-profit focused on providing students access to STEM education, for our first book study. Our selection is Unmasking AI by Dr. Joy Buolamwini, published by Random House. We will host our initial book club meeting virtually in November 2023.
Teachers in the Loop and HAKing Innovation will provide copies of Unmasking AI to the first 25 educators who sign up for the book study. Educators must be currently serving in a school district in the capacity of a teacher, campus-based instructional coach, teacher's assistant, or paraprofessional.
For more information on Unmasking AI, visit the publisher's website.

We are in the Fourth Industrial Age, an era increasingly dominated by artificial intelligence (AI). Preparing students to navigate this future should be a priority for school districts and educational institutions worldwide. Artificial intelligence is not a new, shiny object. Together, we can learn how AI can help teachers spend more time with students while exploring topics such as privacy, ethics, and best practices for AI integration.
How do we move beyond four walls and desks in rows? Research shows that learning environments have an impact on student learning and outcomes. We've learned there is no one-size-fits-all approach for students, and the same can be said for classrooms. How can we transform classrooms to meet the needs of every student? Is it even possible? Together, we will explore the endless possibilities for innovative learning environments.
